Patient Medication Records
Our computer allows us to keep records of all your prescriptions dispensed by us. This helps us check for possible problems, such as interactions between medicines and will help us deal with any queries you may have.

Celluvisc 1% Eye Drops Solution (0.4ml x 30 Single Dose Units): Are preservative free single dose sterile eye drops used for the relief of dry eyes in people who do not produce enough of their own tears or because the tear film in the eye is unstable. It belongs to a class of medicines called artificial tears. This medicine contains the main ingredient CARMELLOSE which works by forming a moist and lubricating film over the eye. The film stays on the surface of the eye for some time and is not washed off quickly.
This medicine is in the form of single use vials that do not contain a preservative. The preservative-free preparation may be suitable for people who need to use this medicine but are sensitive to preservatives.
If you are using other eye drops, do not use one immediately after each other. You must wait for at least five minutes between using each medicine. This is to stop the second medicine from washing the first medicine out of the eye. Celluvisc must always be the last medicine instilled into the eye.
Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse during treatment with this medicine.
How to use your eye drops:
NOTE: Do not touch your eye or the surrounding area with the tip of the dropper as this may cause injury to the eye and contaminate the gel.

If you are taking more than one medicine they may interact with each other. This medicine is unlikely to have any important interactions. But speak to your pharmacist or doctor if you get any unusual symptoms while having this medicine with other medicines.
Possible side effects of Celluvisc eye drops:
Most medicines can cause some side-effects but not everyone having the same medicine will get the same side-effects.

If you are trying to become pregnant, are pregnant, or are breast-feeding, you should seek medical advice before using this medicine.
Other important information:
Make sure that you read the leaflet that comes with your medicine to check what dose you should take and if there is anything that you need to do if you take more than the recommended dose. If you are in any doubt about whether this medicine is suitable for you, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
This medicine may cause temporary blurring of vision for a short time after applying into your eye. If your vision is affected, you must not drive or operate machinery until your vision has returned to normal.
Take care not to touch the surface of the eye with the tip of the tube or the vial when you put the medicine in to your eye. This is because you may injure your eye with the tip of the vial or tube, and you may contaminate the remaining contents of the tube.
If you are using single dose vials, use them immediately after opening and dispose of the vial after a single use. If you are using the tube form of this medicine, you must dispose of the tube and any remaining contents four weeks after opening it. It is a good idea to make a note of the date when you first opened it.
