Obethin Capsules (120 Capsules):

Welcome to Obethin – new to the UK – your helping hand to a slimmer, healthier, more confident you….

Obethin can help make your weight loss goals easier to achieve. Specially formulated to help you eat less at each meal, you’ll feel full sooner.

With Obethin you’ll soon start to eat smaller portions. No calorie counting required! It also helps to stop hunger pangs in between meals, often the reason for giving up.

Take Obethin as part of a healthy eating and exercise plan. With correct usage – Obethin will help you eat less, take away those horrible hunger pangs and help you reach your ideal weight. You’ll look good and feel confident again – whether you want to lose just a few pounds or a lot more.

Obethin is also suitable for vegetarians

How does Obethin work?

1. Take 1 or 2 capsules of Obethin 30 minutes before you eat with a full glass of water. Remember – do not open the capsules before taking – they should be swallowed whole.

2. During this period before you eat the capsules dissolve, increasing volume a hundredfold and forming a highly viscous and stable gel. Your stomach is then already half full and consequently you don’t feel so hungry when you start to eat.

3. As you eat your meal the gel mixes with the food and slows down the digestion process – you get the sense of feeling full sooner than usual and consequently you eat less.

4. With this sense of fullness your stomach Obethin sends a signal to your brain that you feel full, even though you have eaten a smaller portion of food. has helped you eat less without feeling hungry.

Directions for use:

  • Take 1 - 2 capsules 30 minutes before each meal (ideally 3 times a day) and drink at least one full glass of water* with each dose.

Are there any side effects from taking Obethin?
Obethin is very well tolerated with few reported side effects. Mild stomach and intestinal complaints may on occasions arise, such as slight diarrhea, reflux and gas, and possibly constipation. These side effects usually disappear after a few days.

Are there other product available similar to Obethin?
There are of course other products and programmes available in pharmacies and health shops for weight management, but to date no other product has a mode of action which is similar to Obethin.

Has Obethin been tested on animals?
Obethin has definitely not been tested on animals.

How does Obethin work?

When the Obethin capsules dissolve in your stomach the active ingredient absorbs large quantities of water and increases in volume up to a hundredfold and forms a highly viscous and stable gel substance. As you eat the gel mixes with the food and slows down the digestion process and your stomach then sends a signal to your brain that you feel full, even if you have eaten smaller portions.

Is Obethin safe to take?
Studies conducted in the US, France and Germany have shown that the ingredients in Obethin are safe to use and without any serious side effects.

Is Obethin suitable for children?
No. We recommend that Obethin is taken only by adults over the age of 18. Usage by anyone under this age should only be on the strict advice of, and guidance from, a healthcare practitioner.

Who makes Obethin?
Obethin is manufactured in the Czech Republic by Medinox s.r.o. for Danare Pharma UK Ltd in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility that fully meets the strict quality standards of ISO 9001:2009. Danare a.s. hold a Certificate of Analysis from MvDr Sotola Laborator and are also Kosher and Halal Certified.

INGREDIENTS FAQ's:

Is Obethin gluten free?
Yes

What is in Obethin?
Obethin contains a natural polysaccharide complex, PSC and Spirulina platensis and is not absorbed or digested by the body. PSC is a unique natural polysaccharide complex developed by Danare in the Czech Republic, comprising glucomannan, sodium alginate, xanthan gum and flaxseed. In combination all these ingredients act synergistically with a beneficial effect which helps in weight loss, in lowering cholesterol and in maintaining blood sugar levels and glycaemic index. All ingredients have GMO certificate and therefore contain no genetically modified organisms.

What is the fibre in Obethin?
Obethin contains four fibres that in combination produce the exclusive effects experienced in terms of weight loss when taking the product as directed. These fibres are Glucomannan, Xanthan gum, Sodium alginate and Flaxseed.

Using Obethin FAQ's:

Are there any foods I should avoid while I am taking Obethin?
No – it is not necessary to avoid any specific food or food type while taking Obethin. One of the benefits of Obethin is that it is not necessary to give up on your favourite food in order to lose weight or to ‘calorie count’ – with Obethin you will gradually reduce your portion size and so learn to eat less.

Can I drink alcohol at the same time as taking Obethin?
Yes you can, though we suggest that you moderate you intake as alcohol also contains calories. Drinking too much could contribute to unwanted weight gain.

Can I not break the capsule and mix with water and then drink the Obethin liquid?
No. We strongly advise against this as Obethin is effective because the gel matrix forms when you have swallowed the capsules whole with a full glass of water and the capsules dissolve in your stomach – as in the diagrams in the 'How it works' section. If the capsule was to start dissolving in contact with moisture in your throat or oesophagus this could lead to possible suffocation – thus the direction to swallow the capsules whole.

Can I take Obethin if I am taking meal replacement products?
There is no reason why not, but why would you need to take both product to help you lose weight. At Danare we believe that Obethin taken as per the dosage instructions should be sufficient to help you achieve your weight loss goals in a healthy and satisfactorily way, without having to give up on your favourite foods.

How long will it be before I start to feel less hungry?
This will of course vary by individual. However some people get a feeling of fullness after just their first does

How much weight will I loose taking Obethin?
Based on experience of past and current users you should expect to lose around 4kg per month, but this can of course vary depending on your weight when you started taking Obethin and on your rate of metabolism.

How will I know when to increase the number of Obethin capsules I take?
You will only need to increase the dosage if you still feel hungry mid-way between meals, and you should only consider increasing after 5 days on your current dose.

You may find that it is between breakfast and lunch that you begin to feel hungry, or it may be between lunch and dinner. Everyone is different as people metabolise their meals at different rates. However, remember that the maximum number of capsules you should take is no more than 3 x 4 capsules daily, ie 12 capsules in total.

I am diabetic. Can I take Obethin?
Yes – there is absolutely no reason why should not take as part of your weight loss regime. However we recommend that you inform your doctor you plan to take and that you monitor your glycaemic level regularly.

I only have an apple and coffee for breakfast – should I still take 2 capsules of Obethin?
No – it is not necessary to avoid any specific food or food type while taking Obethin. One of the benefits of Obethin is that it is not necessary to give up on your favourite food in order to lose weight or to ‘calorie count’ – with Obethin you will gradually reduce your portion size and so learn to eat less.

If I am eating less while taking Obethin do I need to add extra vitamins to my diet?
If you are already eating a well-balanced diet then you should not need to take a vitamin and mineral supplement when losing weight with Obethin. However if you feel that you would prefer to supplement your reduced food intake with additional vitamins or minerals then your pharmacist or health food practitioner will be able to advise on a suitable regime.

Is it safe to take Obethin if I am on the contraceptive pill?
Yes – however as slows the digestion process we recommend to take the contraceptive pill 20-30 minutes before you plan to have Obethin.

What should I do if I miss a dose of Obethin?
To achieve the best weight loss results, and to reach your weight goal, we believe you should take the full recommended dose. Missing the odd dose will have the effect of slowing your rate of weight loss, meaning that it will take longer to achieve your ultimate weight goal.

Why do I have to have a break of 5 days after taking Obethin for 30 days?
We recommend having a 5 day break after 30 days to enable your intestine to completely clear itself naturally of any residual viscous gel. You may then resume taking Obethin repeating this 30 days on 5 days off regime as long as necessary. Hopefully during these 5 days ‘off’ your eating habits will have been re-educated and you will continue to eat smaller portions sizes.

Why do I have to take Obethin 30 minutes before eating?
For optimum effectiveness Obethin needs to have completely dissolved in your stomach and formed the stable gel matrix which then mixes with the food which you eat and slows the digestion process, and also sending that message to your brain that you feel full. Our research has indicated that taking Obethin 30 minutes before your meal is the optimum time to allow for the gel matrix to form.

General advice and guidance FAQ's:

Can you give me any tips on setting my weight loss goals?
There are 2 things you need to decide.

How much do I want to lose overall?

How much should I lose every week?

How much to lose? The BMI charts provide the medical and scientific figures on ideal weight. For the less scientific amongst us – I decide what dress size I want to be and allow 10 lbs per dress size. So, if I want to lose 3 dress sizes – I would look at losing 30 lbs. I am 5ft 9 inches, so 10 lbs will be more than one dress size if you are shorter. If in any doubt, talk to your GP.

Once you know how much you want to lose and have started your programme – be sensible! It is proven that if you lose weight steadily over a period of time, it is better for you, than losing a large amount in a short time.

If you can lose 1- 2 lbs a week – that is a sensible amount to lose – after all that’s 4 - 8 lbs in a month. That’s 3 to 7 stones in one year! Loads! Too many people lose huge amounts in a short space of time and then put the weight back on faster than when they lost it. Don’t be one of them.
