All medicines are dispensed in child resistant containers unless you ask us not to.
Please remember: Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children. Our pharmacist can advise you on safe storage of medicines.
NHS Unwanted Medicines Service
Please return all unwanted medicines to the pharmacy where we will dispose of them safely.
NHS Health Advice and Self-Care
The pharmacist and our trained assistants are available for advice on all medicines and minor ailments. We can also give you advice on how to live a healthy life, for example, advice on how to stop smoking or healthy diets. Patient Medication Records
Our computer allows us to keep records of all your prescriptions dispensed by us. This helps us check for possible problems, such as interactions between medicines and will help us deal with any queries you may have.
We comply with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code of practice on confidentiality. If you want to discuss the records we keep, please ask to speak to the pharmacist.

Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream (400g): Sudocrem has been helping to soothe sore skin for almost 80 years. The market leader in the treatment of nappy rash, it’s used by mums, dads and healthcare professionals.
Unlike some nappy rash products on the market, Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream is a licensed medicine, which means the manufacturers of this cream have had to submit clinical data proving that Sudocrem is an effective and safe treatment.
Sudocrem’s clinically proven to soothe, heal and protect your baby’s delicate skin and works in three ways:
- It contains an emollient that soothes sore or inflamed skin.
- It works as a mild local anaesthetic to help ease pain and irritation.
- A water-repellent base forms a protective barrier, helping to stop any irritants (urine and faeces) coming into contact with the skin.
So what gives Sudocrem its healing properties? Here’s the science bit:
Sudocrem contains:
- zinc oxide which reduces the loss of tissue fluid.
- benzyl benzoate and benzyl cinnamate which are ingredients of Balsam of Peru, recognised for its healing properties.
How to use:
Sudocrem can be applied at every nappy change to help soothe your baby’s skin.
Step 1: Start by putting a little on the tip of your finger – always remember a little Sudocrem goes a long, long way.
Step 2: Gently massage Sudocrem into the skin using light, circular movements (don’t rub, especially if the skin looks sore).
Step 3: When you’re finished, there should be a thin translucent film left on the skin. If the area stays white, you’ve put too much on!
Step 4: Add more Sudocrem to the area as often as you need to.
Other uses of Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream:
Although Sudocrem is the market leading nappy rash cream, you might not know it can also be used as a soothing, protective antiseptic cream for other skin conditions:
- Cuts and grazes
- Minor burns
- Sunburn
- Eczema
- Acne
- Bed sores
- Chilblains
Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream is gentle, so it won’t sting on application. It can reduce the risk of infection and contains a mild local anaesthetic to soothe pain. It also helps a wound to heal and forms a protective barrier over the vulnerable area. In other words, it’s a very useful tub to keep around the
Treating Elderly Skin:
Sudocrem’s gentle care is also very useful in the treatment of skin conditions suffered by the elderly. As we get older, our skin gets thinner, is more easily damaged and slower to heal.
Some elderly people who can’t move around much or who spend a lot of time in a bed or chair may need extra help with their skin. Skin complaints like incontinence dermatitis and pressure sores can be distressing, both for the sufferer and family or friends who are helping to look after them.
Sudocrem can be used to treat incontinence dermatitis. One clinical study* showed that Sudocrem was more successful than a simple Zinc cream in treatment of incontinence dermatitis, reducing redness over 7 days by 92.3%.
